AI Policy

Policy on the Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

The use of generative AI to support the readability and linguistic quality of a manuscript is acceptable, provided that authors comply with the following requirements:

  • Generative AI must not replace the authors’ own ideas, analysis, or scholarly contribution. Its use is limited to improving grammar and language quality.
  • Authors must carefully review, verify, and revise all AI-generated output. They are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the final manuscript.
  • AI tools, including large language models (LLMs), cannot be listed as an author or co-author, because they cannot take responsibility for scholarly work.
  • Disclosure in the Methods section. If AI was used in the research or writing process, authors must state this in the Methods section.
  • Authors must add a section titled “Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process” at the end of the manuscript, before the References. Suggested wording:

During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [name of tool/service] to [purpose, e.g., improve language and readability]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take full responsibility for the final content of the publication.

  • Authors may not use AI tools to create, generate, or alter images, figures, or videos in their manuscripts. All visual materials must be produced or modified by the authors themselves.
  • AI-assisted content in a manuscript should stay below 10%. The editorial team may screen submissions, and manuscripts that do not comply with this policy may be returned for revision or rejected.
