Authorship Criteria Policy

E-Jurnal Manajemen TSM

1. Policy Statement

E-Jurnal Manajemen TSM is committed to upholding transparency, fairness, accountability, and integrity in how authorship is assigned to published work. Beginning with the December 2026 issue, the names listed on a manuscript must truthfully represent the people who contributed intellectually to the study and its writing. Every author is expected to answer for their own contribution and to help safeguard the integrity of the published article.

The journal follows the principles of responsible authorship and takes into account the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other recognized publishing standards.

2. Authorship Criteria

A person may be named as an author only if they meet all four of the following conditions:

  1. Substantial contribution. They made a meaningful intellectual contribution to the study's conception or design, data collection, or the analysis and interpretation of results.
  2. Manuscript preparation. They took part in drafting the manuscript or in revising it critically to improve its intellectual content.
  3. Final approval. They reviewed and approved the final version submitted for publication.
  4. They agree to be accountable for their contribution and to help resolve any questions about the accuracy, validity, or integrity of the work.

Anyone who contributed to the research but does not meet all four conditions should be named in the Acknowledgments, with their role clearly described.

3. Author Contributions and Responsibilities

Authors are encouraged to state openly what each of them contributed. Such contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, data collection, formal analysis, investigation, drafting, critical review and editing, supervision, and other substantive intellectual work.

All authors must ensure that:

  • the manuscript is original and gives proper credit to the work of others;
  • data, methods, analyses, and findings are reported accurately;
  • all sources are cited and referenced correctly;
  • every listed author has approved the submitted manuscript and its final version before publication;
  • the manuscript is not under review at another journal at the same time;
  • funding sources and potential conflicts of interest are disclosed;
  • the research and manuscript comply with applicable research ethics and the journal's publication policies.

E-Jurnal Manajemen TSM does not allow guest, gift, or ghost authorship, or any other practice that misrepresents who actually contributed to the work.

4. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is the main point of contact between the author team and the editorial office during submission, peer review, publication, and after publication. The corresponding author must:

  • provide complete and accurate details of all authors, including names, affiliations, and contact information;
  • confirm that every listed author meets the authorship criteria;
  • make sure all authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript;
  • coordinate communication between co-authors and the editorial team;
  • confirm that all authors agree on the order of authorship and on any proposed changes to it;
  • respond to editorial inquiries and supply further information or documents when reasonably requested;
  • work with co-authors on questions about the published article, including corrections and other post-publication matters.

A corresponding author must never submit a manuscript on behalf of other authors without their knowledge and consent.

5. Authorship Order and Changes

Authors should agree on the order of names among themselves before submission and settle the arrangement fairly and openly.

After submission, any request to add, remove, or reorder authors must be sent to the editorial office with a clear reason and written confirmation from every affected author. The Editorial Board may ask for further explanation or documents before deciding.

After publication, changes will be considered only when well justified and properly documented. If an approved change alters the published record, the journal may issue a correction notice under its correction and retraction policy.

The journal does not settle disputes over each person's share of the work when this would require an institutional investigation. Unresolved disputes may be referred to the relevant institutions.

6. Acknowledging Non-Author Contributors

People who helped with the research but do not qualify as authors should be acknowledged where their help merits recognition. Examples include technical help, administrative support, language editing, proofreading, and assistance with data collection.

The Acknowledgments should describe each contribution accurately. Authors should obtain a person's permission before naming them. Funding and institutional support must be disclosed in line with the journal's editorial requirements.

7. Artificial Intelligence and Authorship

AI tools, including generative AI and large language models, cannot be named as an author or co-author. Authorship requires intellectual contribution, human judgment, approval of the manuscript, and accountability, all of which only human authors can provide.

Authors who use generative AI or AI-assisted tools when preparing a manuscript must disclose this according to the journal's AI Disclosure Policy. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, attribution, and integrity of everything they submit, including text produced or edited with AI. AI must not be used to fabricate data, create false references, or misrepresent research procedures. Disclosure requirements, and any exemptions for routine tools such as basic spelling and grammar checkers, are set out in that policy.

8. Authorship Disputes and Misconduct

The journal treats authorship misconduct seriously. This covers inappropriate attribution, omission of eligible contributors, unauthorized changes to the author list, and disputes over individual contributions.

When a concern is raised, the editorial team may ask the authors for explanations, supporting documents, or written confirmation. It will assess the information impartially and may consult independent experts or refer the matter to the relevant institution. A dispute alone is not treated as evidence of misconduct; decisions rest on the available evidence and the circumstances of each case.

Depending on severity, actions may include suspending the editorial process, rejecting the manuscript, correcting the published author information, or retracting the article where justified.

9. Policy Compliance

By submitting to E-Jurnal Manajemen TSM, all authors confirm that the authorship information is accurate, that every listed author has approved the manuscript, and that each accepts responsibility for their own contribution. The journal may request an authorship contribution statement, written author confirmations, or other documents to verify compliance. Failure to comply may lead to editorial action under the journal's publication ethics policies.
